PAUL, SHARON & BETH HUBY
We are the owners and husband, wife & daughter team at Aquanauts Swimming. We set up our swimming academy in 2013, with the aim to deliver high quality swimming lessons in a relaxed, friendly and safe environment.
We started in 2013 by offering lessons at the Forest Pines Hotel, near Broughton, using their pool from which to teach.
In 2015 we increased the venues we taught swimming lessons by adding DW Sports in Gainsborough and Huntcliff School in Kirton Lindsey to our portfolio.
In 2018 we realised our dream and built our own leisure facility, that includes a 15 metre by 5 metre swimming pool, male & female changing rooms with showers and a locker room with unisex changing cubicles. We built this inside an industrial unit at the Southpark Industrial Estate on Birkdale Road, Scunthorpe.
Today, we still offer swimming lessons at the Forest Pines Hotel, which provides easy access to Brigg and its surrounding villages, whilst our own Aquanauts Swimming pool providing easy access to swimmers in Scunthorpe and its surrounding villages.
Unfortunately, both the pool at Huntcliff school and DW Sports were closed.
EXPERIENCE
Sharon has over 25 years experience in teaching both children and adults to swim. She is passionate about developing swimmers of all abilities, by passing on the skills and knowledge she has gained. Sharon manages the day-to-day operations of Aquanauts Swimming, whilst still managing to find time to instruct some of our classes.
Paul has over 25 years experience in business management and financial accounting. He looks after and manages Aquanauts Swimming’s financial operations.
Beth loves to sit on reception and complete daily registers, when she is not attending classes. She loves to talk and engage with nervous swimmers getting in the pool.
INSTRUCTORS
To ensure the quality of our swimming lessons, our instructors are all fully qualified to Swim England or STA, level 2 in Swimming Teaching. All venues from where we teach have Lifeguard qualified staff and all Aquanauts Swimming instructors are advanced DBS checked and attend regular continuous professional development courses. Sharon instils her teaching ethics to all our instructors, as she believes it is key to maintaining excellent standards.
Our team of instructors will endeavour to deliver the highest level of service to all our pupils, with lessons taught through very small class sizes, as we believe this brings the best teaching results.
We ensure all our pupils get 100% attention, dedication and respect from our instructors.
